Netratarpan is an ophthalmic procedure in which make a boundary around the eyes by black gram powder paste, it about two angul height and pour medicated lukewarm ghee for 20-30 minute advice to patients blink the eyes during this periods.

It is snigdh kriya indicated in vata dusti eye diseases. This treatment provides rejuvenation of eyes and regenerates the retinal cells. Tarpanam will be done for 7, 9 or 11 days depend upon the severity of disease. This treatment should be repeated after 3-6months gap for better results. It can be done for healthy eye for maintenance of vision.

Indication:

A wall is constructed with the paste prepared from Yava (barley) and Masha (black gram) around eye socket –resembling a well to a height of two Angula –finger breadth. Keeping the eyelids closed, medicated herbal ghee, which is liquefied by heating in hot water bed, should be poured into the well up to the level of tips of the eye lashes.
